Aftermath

That was the only response I got yesterday when I dialled my bro’s number 10 times and my sis’ 8 times. Yeah. I had to check my call log to get the figures.

I haven’t called my family for a week. I’m a bit worried ’cause Eastern Visayas, specifically Leyte, was not an exemption to Frank’s heavy downpour of rain and strong wind. I didn’t have the slightest idea as to how Frank devastated my ever dearest hometown.

So I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a massive blackout in some parts of Leyte. And that could be the reason why they can’t charge their phones right now. I don’t even wanna think about it but some cellsites could have been destroyed, leaving Globe subscribers with no choice than to wait until everything goes back to normal. I hope not, ’cause with Globe Abot mo ang mundo.

That happened before when Milenyo slammed Eastern Visayas and some parts of the country in December 2006. Milenyo caused much damage than I could ever imagine. After days of floods and rains, roads were covered with leaves (and even trees) and good amount of wastes that required weeks to clear. Trees blocked roads and made them barely passable.

We went back to basics. I mean, we had to use poso for water and gasera for light. Appliances were completely useless. There was a power failure for almost a month. We had to celebrate Noche Buena and Media Noche in dim light. We felt so isolated. No electicity. Think of the katutubos in the mountains and Tabon men. That’s how we lived for almost a month.

After days of boredom and nights of darkness , the power was finally restored…

Going back to the present, my bro finally gave me a ring today. It was such a relief to know they’re okay. But Frank caused much damage on Pinoys’ lives. Not only it wreaked havoc on almost all parts of Pinas, but it also sank a ship. Imagine how many people Frank killed. Imagine how many people got homeless. With Samsung, it’s not that hard to imagine. ahehe

I hate you, Frank! I’ve never hated someone or something like this before. I’m cursing you at the top of my lungs. Get lost! (I think he’s really gone). hehe.

@jeck: haha. walang bolahan, dude. baka maniwala ako. LOL. ganyan din trip ko pag bumabagyo – kain nang kain, inom ng kape, gulong sa kama, atbp.
